When you or someone you know is told they have cancer, trying to figure out how to explain it to your child can be difficult to say the least. This children’s book was born out of the experiences of an oncology nurse who beat cancer while raising two young kids, and a current breast cancer warrior, to help explain what to expect when someone has cancer in simple terms for the younger ages. This children’s book gently tries to explain what cancer is, what the journey through treatment looks like, and how it will change life a bit to children of younger ages while reminding them they are always loved.
Book teaches the basics about: what cancer is, who is involved in helping treat cancer, types of cancer treatments and some side effects, some ideas for how to support someone with cancer, and about feelings post learning about a cancer treatment in simple terms for toddler and elementary age children.
